Farmington Liquors received the 2017 Minnesota Municipal Beverage Association (MMBA) Facility Award for Community Involvement. One of MMBA’s goals is to promote the important and unique advantages of municipal liquor operations in today’s marketplace. Farmington Liquors was nominated for the award because in 2016, the store donated $10,000 to help fund Schmitz-Maki Arena’s Zamboni. MMBA Board of Directors member Tom Agnes presented Farmington Liquor Operations Manager Blair Peterson with the award plaque, in addition Farmington will receive $250 to be used by the city for an approved community project.

Store profits are used to benefit the city of Farmington; in fact last year, the store donated over $109,000 to help fund the trail connection from 194th Street to the Hwy 3 roundabout, a sound system upgrade for Schmitz-Maki Arena, thermal imaging cameras and accessories for the Farmington Fire Department, city building inspections vehicle, bike racks for downtown Farmington, and security cameras for Lake Julia Park.
