Rambling River Park Trail Project

Due to flooding over the years, the Vermillion River channel has moved closer to sections of the Rambling River Park trail located north of Schmitz-Maki Arena and south of the Feely Fields. This summer sections of the trail will be closed for the river bank stabilization project to eliminate erosion next to the trail.

After the stabilization project is finished, the paved trail section will be removed and a new paved trail will be placed. Additionally, trout habitat will be restored in the river. This project will begin in July and is scheduled to be finished (depending on weather) in August 2017. River restoration costs will be offset by a $255,000 Metro Conservation Partners Legacy Grant.
