Sewer fees are based on the lower of actual or winter quarter water usage, with a minimum of 10,000 gallons charged. Each additional 1,000 gallons of water used is an additional fee.
$36.00/quarter for the first 10,000 gallons of water used during the winter quarter plus $3.60/quarter for each 1,000 gallons after 10,000 used.
Storm Water Fee
- The storm water utility flat fee of $12 per quarter.
This fee is collected from residents and businesses for the purpose of managing the city's storm water through the maintenance of storm sewers, ponds, and drainage ways.
- $6.90 per Residential Equivalent Unit (REU)
This activity supports the maintenance of city street lighting at locations throughout the community. Depending upon where you live in Farmington, electric service is provided by Dakota Electric Association or Xcel Energy. Existing streets lights are maintained, depending upon ownership, Xcel Energy, or Dakota Electric Cooperative.
Farmington residents and businesses are billed quarterly for water usage. Usage is based on the amount of gallons used. The fees are:
$1.30/1,000 gallons up to 20,000 gallons
$1.60/1,000 gallons over 20,001 up to 40,000 gallons
$2.00/1,000 for over 40,000 gallons
An availability fee of $12.00 is charged every quarter and is not dependent on usage.
