2030 Comprehensive Plan

The Comprehensive Plan is the guide for how Farmington will grow over the next 20 years and provides direction in making land use and development decisions.  On January 15, 2008 the Planning Commission recommended approval of Farmington’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan – 2008 Update draft.  The City Council subsequently approved the draft on February 12, 2008 and directed staff to forward the plan to surrounding communities for the six-month review and comment period.  The Planning Commission reviewed the comments on October 28, 2008 and the City Council approved the final plan on November 17, 2008 and was forwarded to the Metropolitan Council for consideration and final approval. The Metropolitan Council approved the plan on March 11, 2009 with official City Council approval on April 20, 2009.
